DATA HANDLING STANDARDS

See How We Safeguard Your Account Data

ematka applies layered data-protection practices across every part of the platform — from how cookies work in your browser session to how long we retain your payment history after account closure.

Cookie Management

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and analytics cookies to understand which pages load slowly. You can manage cookie preferences from the settings panel in your browser or the ematka cookie banner at first visit.

Account Security

Every ematka account is protected with password hashing and optional two-factor authentication via SMS or authenticator app. Suspicious login attempts trigger an automatic account lock and an alert to your registered email.

Payment Data Handling

Transaction data from UPI, Paytm and PhonePe is stored in encrypted form and used only for dispute resolution and withdrawal verification. We do not transmit raw payment details to any marketing or analytics service.

Data Retention Period

We retain account and transaction records for the period required under applicable Indian financial regulations. After that window closes, personal identifiers are removed from active databases and archived logs are purged on a rolling schedule.

Third-Party Disclosure

ematka shares data with third parties only when required by law or when necessary to process your payment through Paytm, PhonePe or another authorised processor. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Requesting Data Changes

You can request a copy of all data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request account deletion by contacting our support team. We verify your identity first, then complete the request within 14 working days.

Open Answers to Your Privacy Questions

These questions reflect what our account holders ask most often about data, access rights and how their information moves through the ematka platform. If your question is not here, our live chat team can answer it directly.

We collect your name, email address, mobile number and date of birth at registration. If you transact via UPI, Paytm or PhonePe, we also log the transaction reference and amount for your account history and dispute records.

Payment transaction references are stored solely to verify deposits, process withdrawals and resolve any payment disputes you raise. That data is not shared with third-party marketers or used to profile your spending behaviour outside the platform.

Yes. Submit a data-access request through live chat or email with your registered account ID. We verify your identity and then send a structured summary of your personal and transactional data within 14 working days of confirmation.

We retain records for the period specified under applicable Indian financial and tax regulations. Once that mandatory window passes, personal identifiers are removed from active systems and scheduled for deletion from archived logs.

We share data only with authorised payment processors like Paytm and PhonePe to complete your transactions, and with regulatory authorities if required by law. No data is sold or passed to advertising networks or data brokers.

Contact our support team via the in-app Message Centre or email, quoting your account ID and a deletion request. After identity verification, we process the deletion within 14 working days, subject to any legally mandated retention periods.

We use essential session cookies for login continuity and analytics cookies to monitor page performance. You can adjust your cookie preferences using the banner that appears on your first visit or through your browser's privacy settings at any time.
